Purpose: To give students the opportunity to learn, and use, academic and technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and for careers in current or emerging employment sectors.
- Students will use jobs they procure on their own to implement what they are learning in the content areas in school.
- Students will master the necessary technical, academic, employability, decision-making, and interpersonal skills to transition to meaningful employment.
- Students will develop and apply the skills necessary to plan and manage their careers.
- Students will apply rigorous academic content standards to real world situations.
Requirements for Community Service
Community Service is volunteer work completed by students of eScholar Academy. It may include volunteering for a community project, such as Home Help for Hispanic Mothers, cleaning your church during a church work day, working with small children, be a bell ringer for the Salvation Army, or helping people in the community with whatever needs they may have. Fifteen hours of work plus an essay equals one unit/credit toward Electives or Vocational Arts.
